Mitchell Best | CEO & President of Client Services
Mitchell Best is CEO & President of Client Services for VITAL WorkLife, a national behavioral health consulting organization serving the well being needs of organizations and employees for over 30 years. He joined the company in 2001 as Director of Business Development, was promoted to Vice President of Business Development and Account Services, then to COO before buying the company in 2013. Mitch utilizes his breadth of experience and industry expertise to provide strong business leadership for the organization and direct oversight to the client services team. He previously served in account services and business development roles for companies in the technology and services sectors.
Mitch holds a BA degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota.
Susan Otten, MBA, ABC | Chief Operating Officer
Susan joined VITAL WorkLife in 2014 with rich experience in marketing, communications, process improvement and consulting. She has been a successful business strategy and marketing consultant, as well as held numerous leadership roles in both large (Apple and AGCO) and small companies in a variety of industries, including her own consulting practice. Susan has presented on a variety of topics, including B2B social media and is the President Elect for the International Association of Business Communicators, Minnesota Chapter.
Susan has a BS degree in human ecology from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, an MBA with a concentration in marketing and organizational development from Illinois Benedictine University – Chicago as well as certification as an Accredited Business Communicator.
Nicole Hale | VP of Operations
Nicole Hale, VP of Operations, joined VITAL WorkLife in 2004 as Business Manager. Her strong contributions to the company led to her promotion to Director of Finance and then to VP of Operations. Nicole previously served in management, finance and human resources for companies in the healthcare, staffing and financial services sectors.
Nicole holds a BS degree in Finance and Accounting from St. Cloud State University.
Kristin Tschida | Director of Marketing
Joining the company in 2015, Kristin has over 25 years of experience in marketing for both start-ups and mature organizations in multiple industries. Most recently as Director, Marketing Strategy and Communications, Acquisition & Retention Services/Payer Market at Optum, a growing services provider and part of UnitedHealthcare, Kristin led comprehensive marketing programs for various consulting capabilities and tools designed to improve the healthcare ecosystem. The first half of Kristin’s career was marketing technology products and professional services, and she has led events, public relations, domestic and international channel and partner programs.
Kristin holds a BA in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire.
Sarah Prom, MA, LPC, ODCP | Director of Service Delivery, Senior Consultant
Sarah leads the Service Delivery Team for VITAL WorkLife and serves as a Senior Consultant and Practice Lead for the Training & Education Practice. She has more than 10 years of counseling, coaching and mediation experience. Sarah has trained mediators nationally and internationally and has expertise in the areas of team development and facilitation, workplace stress and conflict management, marital issues and workplace training.
Sarah received her MA in Counseling from the University of North Dakota, is a licensed Professional Counselor, a Certified Transformative Mediator and Organization Development Certified Professional (ODCP).
Shawn Friday, MEd, LPC, CEAP | Senior Consultant
Shawn is a Senior Consultant for VITAL WorkLife. He has over 12 years of employee assistance experience and an additional 7 years of experience as a counselor in a variety of settings. Shawn has expertise in the areas of anxiety and stress management, couples’ issues and critical incident stress management.
Shawn has an MEd degree in Counseling from North Dakota State University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Employee Assistance Professional.
Liz Ferron, MSW, LICSW | Senior Consultant
As our Physician Practice Lead, Liz Ferron manages Physician Wellness Resources services for VITAL WorkLife, as well as oversees all solutions of our healthcare clients. Liz is a member of our Physician Advisory Team and provides training, consultation, counseling and coaching to healthcare administrators and individual practitioners in many areas, including stress management, change management and conflict resolution.
Liz is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and received her MSW degree in clinical social work from the University of Minnesota. She has served three terms as President of the Minnesota Employee Assistance Program Administrators and Counselors (MEAPAC) and is a former adjunct faculty member at the College of St. Benedict.
