VITAL WorkLife is proud to be a sponsor of the Bounce Back Project. The project is a unique collaborative of physicians, nurses, hospital leaders, staff and community partners in Wright County, MN, who have come together for a single purpose — to impact the lives of individuals, communities, and organizations by promoting health through happiness.t

How Did Bounce Back Get Started?

The Bounce Back Project was born out of loss when two highly respected and loved physicians died in 2014. These deaths caused the care team who worked with these physicians to pause and ask some important questions — not only about how fragile life is, but about the choices we all make each day.

A group of physicians and hospital leaders participated in a resilience conference hosted by the Minnesota Hospital Association. At this conference, a number of tools promoting resiliency and decreasing burnout were shared. The physicians who participated from Buffalo Hospital recognized this work held not only personal meaning, but would be meaningful for patients and communities.

The Bounce Back team sought to identify the best tools and resources available to assist others in developing resiliency.  They first brought this to their hospital, eventually expanded to the community of Buffalo (involving the school district as well) and they now offer programs more broadly to healthcare and communities.

In their first year, more than 6,000 people heard Bounce Back presentations and reported experiencing renewed purpose and meaning. Physicians reported changing the way they practice medicine.
