Sara Carlson, MA, LMFT

Sara Carlson is an Educator Peer Coach for VITAL WorkLife. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), working in private practice. Her focus is on individuals in psychotherapy, couples and family therapy. Sara has also been an EAP Consultant for 3M for more than 10 years. She provides confidential telephonic consultation regarding personal and family concerns including disease management, mental health and substance abuse.

 

Sara has an Elementary Education License, and prior to becoming a LMFT, she taught kindergarten, first, fifth and sixth grades in the St. Paul Schools. During this time, Sara saw a serious need to support students in inner city schools, and transitioned her Masters in Education to a Masters in Psychology to become a LMFT. Based on her experiences, she understands the unique challenges and stress teachers face. Sara believes if teachers are not functioning at their best, not only do they suffer, but so do their students.
